Peacock Bass

Peacock bass are found in just a few places around the world with the larger ones in remote areas of the Amazon.

The United States does have some small pockets of peacock bass but they are of a smaller strain weighing in at one to five pound range on average with an occasional one up to ten pounds. These fish are in Southern Florida, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Giant peacock bass are found in Colombia, Brazil and Venezuela, these fish are fairly common in the 10 to 20 pound range with the world record going just under 30 pounds with a few that have been recorded over 30 pounds. These fish are violent fighters and take top water lures like no other fish. They can make acrobatic jumps of 5 to 6 feet above the water and are known best to test the skills of many anglers!!!
