Giant Peacock Bass

book a trip

Packing suggestions:

Las Lagunas/Amazon

Luggage weight limits:
We fly on a government run airline (Satena) and they have a 33 pound limit to check in bags though they will allow you to bring additional items but will charge you an additional fee for weight over 33 pounds. Try not to use large luggage bags and water resistant or water proof bags are better as it can rain anytime in the jungle even in the dry season. It is recommended to spray your shirts and pants down with Permethrin as it will help to keep bugs off your clothing and usually is good for up to 6 washings. The camp has daily laundry service so no need to over pack. Fishing partners should coordinate their packing of items to avoid too much duplication.
* Carry most valuable, essential and fragile items in carry on.

Tipping guidelines
Tipping is a reward for good service and is greatly appreciated by the guides and camp staff. General rule at Las Lagunas is $200.00 total for guides and camp staff for the week, we hand this to the camp host at the end of the week and he will hand it out to all in front of us. You should also tip the handlers some in Bogota.
Once again this is a general guideline to help you pack but every trip may vary and we always need to discuss before we head down.
