2017/18 Fishing report from Las Lagunas lodge/Colombian Amazon

Well, the 2017/18 season has come to an end with one last great trip!!!!!! Las Lagunas has to be the hottest trip into the Amazon, all’s we could talk about is how we expect to catch a ten pound plus fish everyday sprinkled in with the occasional 20 pound plus fish, reminded me of the early days in Brazil and I still love Brazil but if you just want to catch “GIANT” peacock bass Las Lagunas lodge in Colombia is the place!!!!
I have now fished the Las Lagunas area throughout this season with high water, medium water and extremely low water and it was great at all levels. We had to adjust this last trip by fishing the main river by by the sand bars and off the many beaches but it was a blast as well. Topwater plugs were absolutely the best and the noisier the bait the better, get it moving and you got to see some of the wildest strikes you have ever seen. Peacock bass fishing at it’s best!!!!!

Great food, very comfortable and clean accommodations, night time lows in the upper 60’s to 70 and the highs were in the 80’s during the day for the most part with a couple of days in the 90’s and great service throughout the trip, you won’t be disappointed!!!!!
